Welcome to the blog — jazz violin, technique and improvisation

Written by

Welcome to the blog of Esteban Gassmann, jazz violinist and improvisation teacher from Córdoba, Argentina.

This space was created with a simple intention: sharing the journey. Not only the techniques or the exercises, but also the questions that arise when you sit down with the violin and decide to improvise. The doubts, the discoveries, the references that inspire.

What will you find here?

The blog is organized around three lines:

  • Technique & Improvisation: exercises, ideas on phrasing, how to approach scales and modes from the jazz violin perspective.
  • Jazz & References: Grappelli, Ponty, the jazz violin classics and what we can learn from their language.
  • News: workshops, concerts, cycle openings and everything happening in the project.

Whether you’re starting out with jazz violin, or you already play and want to sharpen your ear for improvisation, this blog is for you. If you have questions or topics you’d like covered here, write to me via the contact form or WhatsApp.

Let’s begin.
